I Support Digital India, But I haven't Changed My Facebook Profile Picture. Here's Why...

DIGITAL INDIA – A Flagship Programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society as well as a knowledge economy.
Yes, I am a proud Indian, and I support Digital India too, but I am absolutely not supporting Facebook's Internet.org Project.

Yesterday, Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Indian Prime Minister
Narendra Modi met at Facebook’s Headquarter. The Historic meeting between PM Modi and Zuckerberg went great.

Hours after this event, Facebook launched a tool that allows you to change your Facebook profile picture to a Tricolor shade of Indian Flag, just like few months back 30 Millions Facebook users had changed their Profile picture with Rainbow color to support "Gay Marriages."

The Latest Tool with URL http://fb.com/supportdigitalindia is to support the "Digital India" campaign by the PM Modi Government.

Ever since Zuckerberg changed his Facebook profile picture to an Indian Tricolor shade to show his support for the Digital India campaign, we Indians started following the same suit.

Our Facebook timelines have started flooding with tricolor profile pictures. Repeatedly, Facebook says, "Show Your Support for Digital India."

FACEBOOK'S RETURN GIFT FOR SUPPORTING INDIA?

This is not that much difficult to understand:

When a Politician does something it might be good for the Country, but When a Businessman does something it is definitely good for his Business.

'Gay Marriage ' was a social cause, but Digital India is completely a Political and Business Initiative to grow Indian Digital Infrastructure. (I agree, we need this, but... )

What Facebook will get in return for promoting India's Project?

Digital India plans to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks, but at what cost?

We all know : India is one of the biggest markets for Facebook, not just in terms of size, but also in terms of Revenue. Therefore, Facebook's support for 'Digital India' could indirectly mean to market its
Internet.org project.

HERE’s WHY I WILL NOT CHANGE MY PROFILE PICTURE

To show my support to Digital India, I am not going to change my Facebook Profile picture.

Here's Why:
You may think this tricolor filtered profile picture is a gesture to support Digital India. However, it is not.
There seems to be a hidden agenda behind Zuckerberg's support for Digital India, and that is Internet.org – Facebook's much-criticized anti-net neutrality project – which has now been renamed to "Free Basics ."

Yes, in the name of Modi's Digital India, Zuckerberg is silently promoting his Internet.org Campaign, which will potentially kill the Internet freedom in the Country.

Facebook, in collaboration with six companies, including Samsung, Media Tek, Software Nokia, Opera, Ericsson, and Qualcomm, launched Internet.org that aims at providing Free Internet services to developing nations.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT FACEBOOK’S FREE INTERNET PROJECT
This move by Facebook is not exactly what it looks like. It actually is a blow to our Internet freedom and Net Neutrality, the one we are fighting for long.

Here's Why:
The Facebook's free Internet service will be available to Reliance users only.
Internet.org gives 'free access' only to Facebook and its 50 partner websites, which limits Internet users to stick to those services only.

This Facebook Project is not giving Free Internet to people, instead giving free access to manipulated-Internet that Facebook wants users to see.

Isn't this violation of Net Neutrality? When Internet provider will decide what we are going to see on the Internet.

Threats:
Death of Start-ups. With this move, we closed doors for another FlipKart or SnapDeal.
Death of Small businesses. Local businesses will not grow, as the site who will pay more will be part of Facebook's free Internet project.
Your Internet Remote in Facebook’s Hand. With internet.org, you are indirectly giving Facebook more power to control what you can access on the Internet.

POOR PEOPLE, "1st PROVIDE FREE DEVICES, THEN FREE INTERNET."
Okay, let's ignore all these points and believe that Facebook really wants to provide Free Internet access to those poor people who cannot afford data packages provided by Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

But think about it, if a person is unable to afford data packages, how he/she will possibly be able to afford a device that is required to access even Facebook's Free Internet?

MEANWHILE… ANKIT FADIA APPOINTED AS BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR 'DIGITAL INDIA'
Yes, you heard right!

Indian Self-proclaimed Hacker, Ankit Fadia, has reportedly been appointed as one of the brand ambassadors for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India Initiative.

He made this announcement on his official Facebook Page. However, we have no official confirmation or announcement from the Government as of yet.

I have nothing to say about Ankit Fadia in this article, but can read more about him from Forbes.

According to me, Digital India Needs Influential and Inspirational

"Technologists" as Brand Ambassadors , not any hackers or marketing gurus.
THINK TWICE BEFORE CHANGING YOUR PROFILE PICTURE

So, think twice before changing your Facebook profile picture to tricolor shade, you might indirectly support Facebook's Internet.org project.
I smell a rat here when Facebook supporting 'Digital India.'

This article is just an opinion, and it is not to hurt your patriotism or support towards PM Modi, as I'm too a supporter of Digital India, but I will not blindly change my profile picture . So, Choose Wisely.

Facebook's spokesperson has told news websites that their developer mistakenly used the "InternetOrg " word in the source code that hint Indian users and triggers this discussion.

"There is absolutely no connection between updating your profile picture for digital India and Internet.org, " a Facebook Spokesman said late on Monday night.

"An engineer mistakenly used the words 'Internet.org profile picture' as a shorthand name he chose for part of the code. But this product in no way connects to or registers support for Internet.org. We are changing the code today to eliminate any confusion. "

Deleting WhatsApp Messages Before 90 Days Could Land you in Jail

While the Indian people continue to struggle for Net Neutrality, a new problem surrounded them with the release of the latest policy for ‘National Encryption Policy ’ by the Indian Government.

If you delete your WhatsApp Messages or Emails that you receive or send before 90 days, it might be a crime and you can End-up In Jail.

If the new National Encryption Policy implements that come up with weird suggestions — one should not delete WhatsApp conversation, Gmail or any email for 90 days, it would be an Internet Disaster.

With the aim to ‘provide confidentiality of information’ and ensure ‘protection of sensitive or proprietary information’, the draft policy, proposed by an so-called ‘expert panel ’ from the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), requires:
Access to your Private Data
The government wants to have access to all your encrypted information including your personal emails, text and voice messages, and data stored in a private business server.
Not to Delete any WhatsApp Messages or Emails for 90 Days

The Policy will enforce Internet users to save all encrypted communication data in plaintext for at least 90 days, which includes: WhatsApp messages, emails, sensitive banking or e-commerce transactions details.
Share your Encryption Keys with Government
National Encryption Policy also want Indian Internet Users to give up their encryption keys to the Government and Security Agencies.

Foreign Services Providers need to Comply with Indian Government
In India, More than 80% of Internet users are addicted to Non-Indian services like WhatsApp, Facebook, Gmail, Skype, Telegram and thousands more.

But, the National Encryption Policy requires Service Providers located outside India to enter into an agreement with the Indian Government, which says:

“ Encryption algorithms and key sizes will be prescribed by the Government, ” the policy reads.

You can send your comments to
akrishnan@deity.gov.in by October 16, 2015.

The draft National Encryption policy has triggered national outrage among citizens of India that are forced to store their online messages send through WhatsApp, SMS, e-mail or any such service for up to 90 days.

Now Let’s see what the government decides.

Microsoft has Built its own Linux Operating System.

Sit Tight on your seats, because you're gonna get a Shock.

Microsoft has developed an Operating System powered by LINUX.
Close your mouth first. It’s True!
Microsoft has built its own Linux-based operating system called Azure Cloud Switch (ACS ) and believe me, under Satya Nadella, Microsoft has become more open than ever.

According to the announcement made through an official blog post on Microsoft website, Azure Cloud Switch
(ACS) describes as "cross-platform modular operating system for data center networking built on Linux." or Simply, "Commodity switch software stack for data center networks".
The Purpose of developing Linux-based Azure Cloud Switch (ACS) operating system at Microsoft is to make it simpler to control the hardware from multiple vendors (such as Switches ) that powers their cloud-based services.
And here's the Kicker:
"Running on Linux, ACS [Azure Cloud Switch] is able to make use of its vibrant ecosystem. ACS allows to use and extend Open Source, Microsoft, and Third Party applications."

However, Microsoft's Linux distribution is not going to appear on Desktops or Servers anytime soon, because this isn't a typical consumer-grade Operating System.

For Now, Azure Cloud Switch (ACS) Linux OS is just an internal tool that Microsoft uses to "debug, fix as well as test software bugs much faster" , scale down software and develop features for enterprise and cloud computing services.

Microsoft Azure Cloud Switch (ACS) was demonstrated at the SIGCOMM conference in August 2015 at Imperial College London.

This move by Satya Nadella's Microsoft is really significant.
If you’re interested in the technical deep dive into Azure Cloud Switch (ACS), you will find it on the Microsoft Azure blog.

Microsoft... To Win, Make Love, Not War.

It is not the first time that Microsoft is partnering with rival technologies.
Earlier this year, Microsoft had announced its partnership with Cyanogen, the most popular third-party ROM for Android phones and tablets.
And Cyanogen is reportedly working on deeper integration of Microsoft’s Digital personal virtual assistant, Cortana, into its latest version of Operating System.

How to Fix an Android Phone or Tablet That Appears to be Bricked

So you decided to root (and flash) your Android handset or tablet, and now things don’t seem to be working right. Maybe it won’t start. Perhaps the phone keeps restarting or won’t boot into Android.

It’s time to face the music..  your Android device is bricked. Or is it? In reality, Android is built with flexibility and durability in mind. That means its hard to completely break your Android device.

When fully bricked, your phone is no longer user-repairable in any shape or form. The truth is that many times new modders think that just because a phone appears to be bricked means that all hope is lost. Luckily, this isn’t true.

Haven’t rooted your device yet but considering it? Before you decide, take a look at Guiding Tech’s list of pros and cons involved when rooting your Android device.

Fixing a device that appears to be bricked isn’t a one-fits-all approach, but we will share with you some of the general hints and tips that could be used to get your Android device working again:

What to do if Your Phone Boots Straight into Recovery
Right now your phone refuses to do anything other than boot up directly into ClockWorkMod or any other recovery software you chose to use. It’s toast right? Not exactly.

There is a chance that everything is actually fine and the ROM you used simply is designed to boot into recovery the first time after flashing. To test if that’s the case:

Step 1: Load up ClockWorkMod or whatever recovery tool you are using. Keep in mind that how you do this varies, depending on your phone’s make and model.

For most devices, it’s as simple as holding the up or down volume rocker as your phone boots.

Note: Some devices will automatically boot into the recovery tool, but others will require you to first pick recovery from a list of options.

Step 2: Once in, navigate to reboot system now. This should be the first option on the top, for those using ClockWorkMod.

Hopefully that’s it and everything will start working. If not, that means that you’ll want to re-flash the ROM all over again.

While it doesn’t hurt to try re-flashing with the exact same ROM that you used last time, odds are the problem is that the ROM you used was corrupted. If that’s the case, you’ll be better off downloading a new/different ROM.

If you’ve gotten this far, you should already know how to put a ROM ZIP file onto your device and flash it, but as a refresher:

Step 1: Plug your SD card into your computer and drag the ROM ZIP to your SD card. When it’s finished transferring, eject the card.

Step 2: Place the SD card back in your phone or tablet, while the device is off. Now turn on your phone and boot into recovery. Using the volume keys as buttons, navigate down to Install ZIP from SD card. Select this option by using the power button.

Step 3: Let it go through the process of flashing. When done, reboot. If successful, your device will now boot into the custom ROM you installed.

What to do if Your Phone Won’t Stop Rebooting
The ROM has been flashed, you thought everything went well, but apparently your phone won’t boot into the homescreen and appears to be stuck in a reboot cycle. The problem here could actually be a very simple one.

It’s important to wipe your data and cache before flashing a ROM to your device. Luckily, if you forgot, it’s really not a big deal.

Step 1: Turn your phone off, and then reboot into Recovery. As already mentioned before, how you do this varies depending on your device, though often enough you simply need to hold down either the up or down volume rocker.

Step 2: Navigate over to Advanced. This will bring up a new menu with several options.

Step 3: The second option from the top downward is Wipe Dalvik Cache. Choose this option and follow the prompts. When finished, return to the main menu by selecting Go Back.

Step 4: Once back at the main screen, navigate down to Wipe Cache Partition. Select it now.

Step 5:  Head to Wipe Data/Factory Reset. This will wipe all apps and settings, but since this is a new ROM flash this shouldn’t hurt anything.

Step 6: Finally, reboot your device by selecting reboot system now. If all went well, you should now be able to boot directly into the ROM. If not, you might want to re-flash the same ROM, or try a new one.

None of the Above Solutions Seem to Work? Your SD Card could be at Fault
While the odds of this are pretty low, sometimes the SD card itself is causing issues with things like flashing a ROM.

In this event, you might want to put your SD card into your computer and reformat it. If you have a spare SD card, you also might want to try using it instead.

Is Your Hardware Actually the Problem?

If your phone simply refuses to start or the display is being unresponsive, it’s possible that the problem has nothing to do with the root procedure or with flashing your device. Instead, it could just be bad timing that led to your power charger going bad, or perhaps your display is damaged.

Neither of these things are that likely once again, but it always helps to be thorough and consider all possible problems and solutions.

All Else Fails, Time to Restore from the Original ROM
Ran into a problem that seems to have no possible fix? If so, the solution might be to simply restore the original ROM. This will break your root, get rid of ClockWorkMod and otherwise return your phone or tablet to the same exact state in which it was purchased.

How do you go about this process? Unfortunately, it would be impossible to walk you through this step by step without knowing exactly what handset or tablet you are using. In this case, a search engine like Google or Bing could prove to be your best friend. You’ll want to use a search term like: How to restore original ROM for ( your phone model).

Conversely, you might want to head to a trusty Android community resource like the XDA Developer’s forum, where you will likely be able to find additional help or the tools needed to restore your device.

Conclusion
Never give up! Odds are, your so-called bricked phone can be unbricked without sending it in and paying top dollar for repairs.

If you really are at a dead end here, you can always try returning your phone, but remember that mentioning a phone has been rooted/flashed will void your warranty.....

Hacking Internet Caffe To Get Unlimited Time

I spent some time in internet cafe, playing LAN games with my friends. We used to pay only few rupees and then play for hours for free, without getting noticed, using a little trick. You don’t need any software or hacking skills to do this trick. It’s very simple and anyone with a bit computer knowledge can do it. Lets start.

How to disable the timer on the computers in Internet Cafe and play with your friends as long as you want.

1. First of all create a new Text Document. Then write CMD in it, and then save it as anything.bat. (Make sure you’re file is .bat)

2. Now find your batch (.bat) file and run it. If you’ve done it correctly, you’ll see that CMD (Command Prompt) will open.

3. Now, write in the CMD: cd\windows (This will change the directory to WINDOWS). Then type regedit and regedit editor should open.

4. Now navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>AppEvents>Software>Classes>Microsoft>Windows>Current Version>Internet Settings>Policies>System

5. Then on the right pane where it says Disable Taskmanager, right click on it and scroll down to modify, then change the value of it to 0. Then open Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DELETE or CTRL+SHIFT+ESCAPE) and disable the Internet Cafe’s timer.
If you did this right, you’re done. .
